Donating just got easier
This idea came to me after my son passed away. I was pregnant last year and during the pregnancy my son was diagnosed with Down Syndrome and Leukemia. This is very rare for the leukemia to make itself active while the baby is still in the womb. We spent six days in the NICU at the Children’s Hopital at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The most wonderful care was given to my son. A memory box was made for us including a lock of hair, a foot and hand print, a picture, quilt, and a couple of hand knit hats.
I wanted to give something back to the hospital to say thank you for all of the care and kindness they shared with us.
This is where the site comes into play.
I have been making blankets, hats, sweaters, chemo caps and other things that the hospital might need. I have also started to knit for the women’s shelter in my area.
I wanted a place for people to visit where they can donate funds for the yarn needed to make the charity items.
After you make a donation i will contact you to get an idea of what you would like made. I will then send a picture of the finished product along with the place the item was donated to.
This is a way for both of us to give back to the community. You by making the yarn funds available and me by knitting the gift.
